Trevor Braun
Trevor Braun is the amateur astronomer and creator behind Night Sky Voyager, a YouTube channel that inspires enthusiasts of all skill levels to get outside with telescopes and experience the night sky for themselves. Trevor has been involved in amateur astronomy since 2010 and is active in his local astronomy club, the Cuyahoga Astronomical Association (CAA), where he has served as president since 2020. During that time, Trevor has participated in countless outreach programs focused on helping people learn how to use telescopes and sharing the wonders of the night sky.
Night Sky Voyager is a passion project that combines educational videos, gear reviews, and insights drawn from Trevor’s years of experience in amateur astronomy. Its goal is to break down the perceived barriers that keep people from getting into the hobby and to build a community where astronomers of all skill levels feel empowered to learn and experience the night sky for themselves.
Trevor has been captivated by the night sky since attending his first planetarium show in elementary school. He is strictly a visual observer (for now) and has a passion for sharing that experience with others. One of his proudest accomplishments came in 2012–2013, when he designed, engineered, and built his own reflecting telescope around an old 10-inch mirror he had received.
Cherry Springs State Park in north-central Pennsylvania is Trevor’s favorite observing location, and he visits the park several times a year. He lives for the experience of watching the sun rise after an all-nighter spent chasing planetary nebulae and faint fuzzies.
